![]() Reading from The Encyclopedia Judaica, Volume 10, page 10, we find that the supposed name Jesus is actually the common Greek form of the Hebrew name Joshua. There is no such name as Jesus in the Hebrew language. The simple fact (which is easily proven from authoritative sources) is that this man was born a Hebrew and He had a Hebrew name. The name Jesus is an invention of man which in no way carries the meaning of the true Name of this Man mentioned in the New Testament. Names were and are very important to the Hebrew people, and their meanings are of great significance, not only to individuals, but also to entire families. The importance of knowing this Man’s Name cannot be overstated. ![]() One of the first things we should learn in our search for the true Savior is His Name.
